10 years after the end of Precrime in Washington DC one of the three PreCogs attempts to lead a normal life while still suffering from visions of the future. Will they be able to hold it together or mentally breakdown and give up?
I also loved the 2002 movie that set the stage for the Minority Report on-screen universe. But the nature of big-budget Hollywood means you have room for 1 action-packed plot, whereas the TV series format give viewers more opportunity to experience the world of post-precrime Washington DC, and explore the ethical concerns introduced during the movie more fully. And the movie left this universe with a ton of unexplored potential.
Following the pre-cogs as adults also sees them with something they never had before: a choice. And that choice, played out within the structure of a police procedural, makes for a fascinating mystery series in a rich, futuristic setting.
If you're a fan of both scifi (especially futuristic dystopian scifi) and mystery, I highly recommend you ignore the general sentiment of negativity around this show, give it a try, and make up your own mind.
