As a Miami forensics expert, he spends his days solving crimes, and nights committing them. But Dexter lives by a strict code of honor that is both his saving grace and lifelong burden. Torn between his deadly compulsion and his desire for true happiness, Dexter is a man in profound conflict with the world and himself.
Golden Globe winner Michael C. Hall stars in the hit SHOWTIME Original Series.
Adopted and raised by a cop who recognized his darkness early on, Dexter kills according to a code: only kill the bad guys. So he focuses on the worst of the worst--the ones his department can't catch.
Later seasons of this series certainly received their share of criticism, but I actually enjoyed the entire run of the show. As with any show, some story lines and characters fell short of others. But the main character's struggle to fight his dark impulses kept things interesting.
I haven't yet seen the newest season, but consider Dexter's original writer and actor portraying the main character are responsible for it, I'm certainly exploring how to watch a new Showtime offering.
